   It is just not possible for me to give this book anything less than five stars! It is full of so much truth, written with authority (from the Word) with a humble spirit.

   Right off the bat, this book opens the door for all of us sinners to come on in and be comfortable and to learn about the God who loves and forgives us.

   A quote from the book, “People don’t really have the right or the power truly to justify the guilty. This is a miracle
   reserved for the Lord alone.

   God, the infinitely just Sovereign, knows there is not a just man upon earth that in doing good does not sin (Ecclesiastes 7:20). Therefore, in the infinite sovereignty of His divine nature and the splendor of His indescribable love, He undertakes the task not so much of justifying the just, as of justifying the ungodly (Mark 2:17).”

   Sound doctrine is presented throughout the book in a no-nonsense, loving manner. One of the things I love most about the writings of Charles Spurgeon is the way that he doesn’t shy away from speaking BOLD truth. We are indeed all rotten sinners, and we ALL have hope in the grace and forgiveness of the King of Kings.

   I cannot help but to draw a contrast between the sound biblical doctrine in this book, and the “feel-good spirituality” that is so prevalent in today’s world. Spurgeon speaks truth with nothing but love, yet does NOT fail to make it clear that without true repentance – there is no remission, no redemption from our sins.

   This book, with the updated, a bit more modern language does a wonderful job of lovingly showing people the cross, urging us to face our sins, repent, and to move forward FREE of those burdens.

   If you know someone who really needs to learn the truth of the Gospel of Jesus – get them this book. As a matter of fact, mature Christians will be refreshed and renewed by it, as well as anyone seeking truth.

   For me, it is an exciting reminder of the job at hand, reaching the lost so that they too can find freedom in Christ Jesus.

   This is a wonderfully clear and easy read. The message of Jesus’s Gospel and of faith and trust rings scripturally true, while using language that anyone can understand.
   This book will not tickle your ears with feel good twaddle, but hopes to open your mind and soften your heart. Non believers, will find hope because of the cross and how the King of Kings redeems all who are called. Please read this book. Turn off the tv for half an hour and consider how Jesus came to save us sinners, by trading our dirtiness for His Righteousness. We will be judged not by human standards (where we all can look like “a good person”), but by God’s Holy Holy Holy standards ( our good works can’t help us). Please turn to Jesus.

   Have to say this book hits home for me,and made me understand things a lot better. It is definatly a book that will help anybody – I could not have come across this book at a better time as only days ago I was having a crisis in my faith, I even asked God and the angels why they had forsaken me.
   Until I read this book I had resigned myself believing I was not getting any where and was stuck on what to do and where to go in my life and believed because of my sins and the things I keep doing that was why God wasn’t listening,this had me believing that I was kidding myself and I would never get to heaven.
   Through reading this now I know that I will be going to heaven and will eventually be saved,
   The more I read the more things made sense to me,
   I started to feel excited the more I learned,
   The writer used analogies to explain things and they really help the reader to get a better grasp and understanding of what he as explaining.
   I highly recommend this book for anyone and everyone
   I would love to meet the writer in person, he has truly helped me clarify things and helped me open my eyes so I’m definatly seeing things clearer,
   I don’t usually do reviews,because a lot of other stuff I have read is usually over exaggerated and doesn’t resonate with me and they tend to be bias.
   I cannot say enough good things about this book. I think it’s brilliant for helping give clarity.

   Charles Spurgeon was one of the classic spiritual preachers and remains an inspiration today. His sermons are always on point, direct, and thought provoking along with direction for faith filled living and the hope of Christ. His messages remain accurate on scriptural teaching and truth for any Christian seeker of any denomination. This book is easy to read for any level of reader and the only ask is that you say a prayer before reading for wisdom plus focused understanding, the rest is left up to you. There have always been questions and confusion to certain scripture references used in the salvation explanation and meaning. Mr Spurgeon’s explanations are straightforward and easy to understand. This book will provide answers by simplifying the deeper meaning behind forgiveness, salvation, and a new spiritual life that we all can have. I highly recommend anything Mr Spurgeon teaches. If you have questions about being deserving, justification, grace, am I worthy enough, this writing provides the answers. I have received a review copy from Aneko Press.    This is an easy to read, but thought-provoking book by Charles Spurgeon. Anyone can come to Jesus, no one is too bad. This book is for anyone who wants to know Jesus or already knows Jesus as their savior.
   One of my favorite quotes in the book is “The law is for the self-righteous, to humble their pride. The gospel is for the lost, to remove their despair.” Jesus wants all of us to turn to him. This book is an excellent read and it will touch your heart.

   Charles H. Spurgeon was among the greatest preachers of all time. His words of wisdom and his godly example are well known around the world. Charles Haddon Spurgeon, England’s best-known Baptist minister, was born on June 19, 1834 in Kelvedon, Essex and spent his childhood and early teenage years in Stambourne, Colchester, and Newmarket. In 1856 he married Susannah Thompson; their only children, twin sons Thomas and Charles, were born on September 20, 1857. Spurgeon had no formal education beyond Newmarket Academy, but he was very well-read in Puritan theology, natural history, Latin and Victorian literature. Although he held no college degree, this did not deter him from a remarkable preaching career which he began at the young age of 15. Spurgeon’s preaching was both enormously popular and highly controversial.

   Charles Haddon Spurgeon

   Charles Haddon Spurgeon has always been one of my favorite authors. When I was given the opportunity to review one of his works, I was excited. I’ve always loved the depth of Spurgeon’s writings and how they always point the reader toward a more meaningful relationship with Christ. Jesus Came to Save Sinners certainly did not disappoint in those areas.

   Aneko Press has taken Spurgeon’s original Christian classic book, Jesus Came to Save Sinners, and has updated it for today’s readers. The book is so well written. It’s easy to read and understand. I really enjoyed Spurgeon’s way of writing this book as if it were a personal conversation from one friend to another. The book is written for both Christians and non Christians alike. It gives a beautiful and clear picture of God’s grace, love, mercy, forgiveness and acceptance. Subjects covered in the book include:
   Justification
   Grace
   Salvation
   Faith
   Regeneration
   Repentance
   Forgiveness
   Deliverance from Sin
   Living the Christian Life
   To give you an example of how simply Spurgeon expounds on each topic, I’ll share an excerpt of his thoughts on the concept of justification. He says, “According to our natural reliance on works for salvation, we tend to always talk about our own goodness and our own worthiness. We stubbornly hold to the idea that there must be something good in us for God to take notice of us. But this is a deception, and God sees through all deceptions. He knows that there is no goodness whatsoever in us. He says that there is no one righteous, no not one (Romans 3:10) and He knows all our righteousness’s [are] as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6). Therefore, the Lord Jesus didn’t come into the world looking for those who were good and righteous, but to grant these virtues to people in need of them. He comes no because we are just, but to make us so, for He is the One that justifies the ungodly…With perfect justice, He has set up a system by which He can treat the guilty as if they lived free from offense all their life. In this way, He can treat them as if they are totally free from sin. He justifies the ungodly.” He also says, “The salvation of God is for those who don’t deserve it and have no way to make themselves ready or good enough for it. This may sound odd, but it is a reasonable statement because the only ones who need justifying are those who have no justification of their own. That includes all of us. For only the perfectly righteous would have no need of justifying.” So you can see by the way he writes, Spurgeon wants to make sure the reader completely understands what he is sharing with them. He also uses personal examples from his own life to help the reader know the writings in the book not only apply to others but to himself as well.

   I can’t give enough praise to this book! If I could, I’d had out copies of it to everyone I meet. It is so powerful and simple but explains the truth of God’s plan to redeem us so well. Spurgeon incorporates the “Roman Road” concept of salvation in Jesus Came to Save Sinners and his explanations of each Scripture will sweetly point the reader to Christ.

   This book is a wonderful tool to guide us in our evangelistic endeavors. In such a small book there is a tremendous amount of truth. It is a great book to share with others because it is easy to read and can be completed in a relatively short period of time. It’s a book I will read again and again.
