“My God, I am willing that You would make me willing.”
God waits to bless us in a way beyond what we expect. From the beginning, ear has not heard, neither has the eye seen, what God has prepared for those who wait for Him (Isaiah 64:4). God has prepared unheard of things, things you never can think of, blessings much more wonderful than you can imagine and mightier than you can conceive. They are divine blessings. Oh, come at once and say, “I give myself absolutely to God, to His will, to do only what God wants.” God will enable you to carry out the surrender necessary, if you come to Him with a sincere heart.

Absolute Surrender by Andrew Murray is one of the most profound little books I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. In this revised and updated copy, Aneko press presents a must have for every library.
Andrew Murray is a well-known evangelist and author. His books have impacted lives for generations. His book is filled with profound truths for every believer. The title of the book is also the key point in how Christians are to live in subjection to Christ. Murray tells us that in order for us to receive all God has for us, we must completely surrender ourselves to Him. As we surrender, God will work out our surrender in our lives. We must yield every part of our being to the Lordship of Christ. God accomplishes our surrender for us by the power of His Holy Spirit which indwells believers. After our complete surrender is established by the power of God, He accepts our surrender, develops it, and maintains it.
The author compares our complete surrender to a passage in the Holy Bible found in John 15:5, “I am the Vine, you are the branches. If you abide in Me and I in you, you shall bear much fruit, for without Me, you can do nothing.” The job of the vine is to provide sustenance to the branch. The branches job is to abide in the vine, relying on it for everything it needs. So, too, is the life of the believer. As we learn to live in total dependence on Christ, He works in and through us according to His good will and pleasure.
Absolute Surrender contains step by step instructions on how a believer can learn to surrender completely to Jesus Christ. Andrew Murray says, “The condition of God’s blessing is absolute surrender of all into His hands.” He also says, “God does not ask you to give the perfect surrender in your strength, or by the power of your will; God is willing to work it in you.” To receive God’s very best blessings, doesn’t total surrender seem a small price to pay?
I hope you’ll take the time to purchase and read this powerful book. It will have a great impact on your life, I promise. It certainly did on mine.
This small volume is so profoundly inspired. I have felt drawn to my Lord with an intensity that is beyond description…Andrew Murray and his books have been a blessed source of growth for me as I learn my place in Christ. May those who have a similar desire for find a treasure here as I have. Most Humbly in Christ…
“Except the children of God are filled with the sap of the heavenly vine, except they are filled with the Holy Spirit and the love of Jesus, they cannot bear much of the real heavenly grape.”
Andrew Murray’s expostulation to the saved and church of Christ to stop living according to the flesh, but instead in the work and grace of Jesus Christ is more convicting and needful for the faithful today than in the time period he first wrote his book. He powerfully explains Paul’s epistles to the Galatians and Corinthians and uses the apostle Peter as an example of the emptiness needed for Christians to be converted into the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
I am still walking through this powerful and convicting book. Andrew Murray has been used by the Lord to speak strong words in such a way that conviction comes, but condemnation is put to flight. When reading books such as Absolute Surrender, I find it helpful to go over things several times to give them time to work down into my spirit.
It provokes to love and good works, and it points us to the fulness of the Holy Spirit as our hope and facilitator of the life of Christ in us. I strongly recommend and encourage those who hear the call of the Spirit to go deeper, to pick up this volume and your Bible and wait on the Lord.
These Christian classics need to be read again today. Get one for yourself and another for your pastor. We are not often taught anymore to live fully for God. Our hearts are divided, and we live weak lives. Read this book and see what God intends for us–to be fully surrendered to God in every area of our lives so that we will glorify Him.
