There isn’t enough good I could say in regard to the writings of Mr Moody. The forward in this book written by him states the last chapter is for the backsliders. My first thought was to read the last chapter first.
I read statements in his writing such as “There is nothing in this world that we prize as much as love”, and the deep truth in this is explained with such eloquence, I literally cried.
How does a person review a book that gives a deeper spiritual experience, and to explain parts of said book would ruin it for another readers own personal experience? This book is one of the gemstones of an awakening to God and who He is. Age old questions are answered such as, “if God loves us why is there tragic events”?
The verbiage may have been updated but the message from Mr Moody remains the same. God loves you! As a Christian this book will serve as an excellent reminder of your eternal choice. As a seeker your questions are answered within these pages. Excellent read!

Iconic pastor, Dwight L. Moody, never fails to disappoint in his books. When I received a copy of the updated edition of The Way to God, I was eager to start reading. I’ve read many of his books in the past and have always found his writing style to be very enjoyable and truth filled. Throughout The Way to God, Mr. Moody shares vital truths, personal stories, scripture references, and descriptive examples. As you read his books, you find yourself feeling like you’re sitting across from an old friend having a serious conversation.
Mr. Moody conveys many points in this updated version of the Christian classic, The Way to God. Among one he wants the reader to grasp are:
-the depth of God’s love
-the importance of repentance and what that truly means
-the gift of salvation and how to be assured of it
-living the Christian life
-loving others as Christ loves us
The book is a quick read with only 9 chapters. Each chapter contains a Scripture verse at the beginning of the chapter. Chapters included are:

Chapter 4: Words of Counsel

While reading the book, I understood Mr. Moody’s heartfelt sentiments. He wanted his readers to comprehend the depth of God’s love for them but not only that, he wanted them to understand the process involved in coming to that understanding.
This book would appeal to those who already have a grasp of the Christian faith but would also be a useful help in reaching those who don’t yet know Christ as their personal Savior.

I absolutely adored this book. This was my first time reading it, and I was just blows away by the things that I came to understand.
This was originally published in 1884. Therefore, some of the language can be a bit strange or long winded. However, that does not get in the way of the message at all.
What I enjoyed most is how Moody used stories to explain complicated concepts. It made them so easy to understand and relate to. I really took a lot away from this book.
I enjoyed reading this so much, and I highly recommend it.
Very beautifully written and any layman can understand and the heart is moved by the powerful words of God!!
A very good read as Mr. Moody mixes truth and illustration to allow the principles to sink in with ease. In reading you sense his deep love for the Lord Jesus and the gospel.
Certainly worth you investment and time!
