It is clear that God is passionate about justice and righteousness in His Word and in our world. With tens of millions of people in slavery today, human trafficking is one of the darkest evils of our generation. But what can we do as believers? A Light in Darkness gives a biblical foundation for the church to understand God’s call for us to pursue justice, and provides practical steps for us to demonstrate the gospel as we shine light into these dark places.

What an incredible book! For more than a decade, Pastor Eddie Byun has worked to combat human trafficking in the heart of Seoul. He listened to the restlessness staring in his heart. He wasn’t content to merely know about this darkness – he felt called to DO SOMETHING about it.
My heart also breaks for those living in slavery today. There is a lingering restlessness calling me to do something. I care. I want to help, but have found myself wondering, “What can I do?” I have struggled to define my place in this fight.
Eddie’s book lays out practical ideas, built on strong biblical foundations for what we can (and should) do about this evil. This book has equipped me to be an active participant in this battle.
“More than a product of political, economic, or even sociological factors, we must see human trafficking for what it truly is – a great moral evil that has corrupted the heart.”
This book is incredible. Read it! Then go out and live it. There are millions living in darkness, just waiting for someone like you (and me) to move.
This is such a great book. So many books like this just tell what the problem is and they leave it at that. Brother Eddie describes human trafficking, an issue that is plaguing the globe, with real-world examples. The story of Srey Leak was especially heart-rending.
Brother Eddie gives churches practical things that we as churches can do to help. He describes what committees can be set up, what pastors can do as far as delivering sermons, small groups, Bible studies, and what churches can be praying about.
The gospel should be declared but it should also be demonstrated. Jesus tells us we are the light of the world, but as Brother Eddie says we have been like the Pharisees and have far too long ignored the matters important to God’s heart.
Read this book, learn about this serious issue and then follow Brothers Eddie’s practical plan so that we as Christians (and not CNN) can put a stop to this terrible crime
