The most revolutionary model of leadership the world has ever seen was not offered by a pastor, a CEO, a general, or a political visionary, but by a carpenter from Nazareth who washed His followers’ feet the night before He died. Jesus did not lead from a position of power. He led from a posture of servanthood and love – and He changed everything.

Lead Like Jesus: Five Kingdom Decisions That Change Everything opens the Gospels and invites you into a different way of leading. Drawing on decades of experience as pastors, church planters, and ministry leaders, David N. Johnson and J. A. Johnson show that the unique and countercultural way Jesus led is the key to lasting transformation in the heart, the home, the church, and the world.

Whether you are a church leader, a marketplace professional, a parent shaping little lives around the dinner table, or someone else who influences others and longs to do it well, Lead Like Jesus will teach you how to pick up the towel, kneel, and rise in greatness in the eyes of the greatest Servant Leader who ever lived.

Through five kingdom decisions – choices that cut to the core of who we are and how we lead – the authors explore what it means to lead through suffering, to invest sacrificially in others, to love without conditions, to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, and to take the kind of bold, faith-driven risks that only make sense if God is real. Each chapter is grounded in Scripture, seasoned with pastoral wisdom, and filled with the kind of honest, hard-won insight that can only come from a life lived in service to others.

You will also find practical tools to help you grow, such as leadership assessments designed to reveal where you are thriving and where God may be calling you deeper; a proven framework for turning your greatest trials into your most powerful ministry; and a guide to praying God’s own Word over those who are suffering – a practice that has brought comfort, clarity, and renewed hope to countless leaders and the people they serve.

Jesus said that the greatest among you shall be your servant. These are not just words to admire. They are a decision to make – every day, in every relationship, and in every season of leadership.

Make the decision. Lead like Jesus.
