What Every Christian Needs to Know.
This is a handy guide to evangelism. With chapter titles such as We Have a Message Worth Proclaiming, The Advantages of Personal Evangelism and Common Objections and How to Deal with Them Mr. Popes gives Christians a great deal of information on how to share our message of good news with those around us and also how to counter almost any objection. His use of illustrations such as the time when a man had many excuses not to convert. Mr. Pope told that man to write them on a piece of paper and hand them to God when he arrived for his Judgment. He was to hand them to God and see if those reasons were sufficient for God to excuse him. Of course the answer was no and that man was converted.
There is also another example of an army man who at night would pray only to be heckled by his bunkmates. He asked the chaplain what he should do and the chaplain advised him to pray at a later time which he did. But the soldier felt out of sorts so went back to his regular time of prayer and by doing so led many of his bunkmates to Christ.
Many Christians struggle with personal witness. Whether they feel inadequate or just to nervous to approach anyone. This handy little guide will give them easy techniques to overcome those feelings. As Mr. Pope says “It is high time to get it (The Gospel) out of doors into the sunlight and divest it of the musty smell and solemn tone that has prejudiced so many people against it. Yes, personal work can be done anywhere, anytime, and by anybody who knows how.” And this book will show you how.
