About the Author
Rocky Henriques is no stranger to bad news, but he has discovered that even on the worst days, God is still in charge. Rocky pastored several churches in Mississippi before retiring from full-time ministry in 2024. He remains active in ministry, helping churches that are without a pastor. He earned Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Rocky and his wife, Diane, have four adult children and ten grandchildren. They live in Mississippi with their two spoiled dogs, Millie and Sasha.

I really liked the premise of this book. The use of excellent Scriptures to convey promises of God that we could cling to on days where we need extra grace. Many of these Scriptures are ones that my husband and I have memorized for this very purpose!
The portrayal of our trials as useful in our spiritual growth is expressed well. “So here’s something that shocks us when we first hear it. The biblical idea of a burden here in Psalm 55 is that those things are assignments. Yes, you read that right! Assignments. These are things given to us. It suggests that these are things God has allowed in our lives. We have them for a reason! We may not always know what the reason is; in some cases we may never know. But the truth is that God allows certain experiences into our lives, and He always has a reason for allowing them.”
If you are at a place where you feel overwhelmed with the pressures of life, this may be a good resource to point you back to Scripture and its Author.

I had the privilege of reading this book before it was released. It is a book packed with scripture, faith, and gems of truth from the Bible that bring hope and healing in all situations that life throws at us. The author, Rocky Henriques, has experienced suffering,losses, trials and disappointments.
